WHAT IS ORGANIC ROSÉ WINE?

An organic rosé wine must be certified by an independent control organization. The European VIN BIO certification, created in 2012, incorporates the organic farming label and also includes the winemaking process.

WHAT IS ORGANIC ROSÉ WINE?

Organic rosé wine is produced from grapes and wine that do not contain synthetic chemicals, and sulfite levels are reduced compared to non-organic wine.

At the Léoube estate, we prefer to enhance the vine’s natural defenses through preventative treatment with sulfur. We use contact products rather than input products (which penetrate the soil or vine) and no chemical products. We do not use chemical fertilizers, pesticides, or herbicides. Instead, we favor products of plant, animal, or mineral origin.

In addition to what the VIN BIO regulations require, we manually harvest all our vines, use gravity to avoid crushing and thus oxidizing the grapes, prefer indigenous yeasts (non-industrial) for our fermentations, and have much lower sulfite levels than the authorized level.

The Château Léoube winery proudly displays the ECOCERT label since 2011 and “VIN BIO” since 2012.
