HOW TO STORE ROSÉ WINE PROPERLY?
It's not uncommon to hear that wine improves with age. This saying holds true for red wines with pronounced tannins, but is it also the case for rosé wine?
HOW TO PROPERLY STORE ROSÉ WINE?
Appreciated for its youthfulness and freshness, rosé wine is most often consumed within the year following its vintage. Rosé wine does not contain tannins, which means it will lose its aromas over time. However, some high-quality rosés like those offered by Château Léoube can be stored for one or two, or even three years. Thanks to malolactic fermentation, our wines have better preservation and evolve towards roundness and smoothness.
Storing bottles in a wine cellar remains the best way to preserve the quality of the product, but storing them in a cellar is also a good alternative. The precious beverage should be kept away from light and humidity, in a place that is not subject to large temperature variations.
Once opened, a bottle of rosé should be consumed within 3 to 5 days to prevent the wine from oxidizing and thus altering its quality. During these few days, it is preferable to store the bottle at a temperature ranging from 10°C to 13°C.
