ONGOING ECO-GRAZING
Sustainable development has been an integral part of the DNA of our estate for 25 years. Each year, numerous initiatives are undertaken to contribute to the protection of nature, particularly the ecosystem surrounding the estate. As is customary at the beginning of each year, Léoube’s vineyards receive a visit from a flock of 500 sheep. These sheep will graze in the inter-row spaces between the vines. This mutually beneficial arrangement with a local shepherd allows Léoube to conduct natural weed control without the use of chemical products.
The land at Léoube is fertilized and strengthened, and the vines are cleansed as a result.
Developing natural synergies while ensuring high-quality products is Léoube’s daily philosophy.
This eco-pasturing has already taken place in the southern part of the estate in January.
Since the beginning of February, the flock has been moving towards the northern part.
